Today’s cruise news is important — especially if you sail with Princess Cruises.
We’re starting with urgent travel and weather warnings that could impact flights across much of the United States over the next week, including what to do if you’re flying to meet a cruise and how airline apps and alerts can help you stay ahead of disruptions. I’m also sharing a key update for guests who booked flights through Princess EZair, as many have successfully worked directly with airlines to reroute flights around major storms.
Then we move into two major announcements from Princess Cruises.
First, a serious change involving the 60th Anniversary sailing on Royal Princess, where guests were notified after final payment that the cruise will no longer be a specially themed anniversary voyage. Many guests paid a premium expecting a unique onboard experience — and now are questioning whether this amounts to a bait-and-switch situation.
Second, Princess has announced a significant restructuring of upper management, including the creation of a new Chief Operations Officer role. The goal is to better coordinate hotel operations, food and beverage, entertainment, onboard revenue, and guest services — areas where inconsistencies have been frustrating guests across different ships.
We’ll talk about what this could mean for the onboard experience going forward, what Princess does extremely well, where improvements are clearly needed, and why this leadership change might be a turning point.
