The natural beauty of El Nido is nothing short of the word magical. We've watched too many videos of this stunning place and we're glad that we finally went to explore and experience it first hand.
The Island hopping tours are organized into 4 different itineraries (Tour A, B, C,& D). Each tour is unique and will take you to different area of El Nido's surrounding islands. You also have the option of going on a private boat or joining the group tour.
Private tours are expensive for good reasons. You share the boat with no one and you'll also depart early to beat the crowds. This option also gives you more flexibility of the order of stops and length of stay in stops. While in contrast, Group tours means you go where they say and leave when they say. But Group tours is the one that will save you more money. You'll also get the chance to meet people from all over the world. But really, the best island hopping tour would depend on your specific preferences, activities you like, the type of scenery you want and your travel budget. So pick the one that suits you. For us, we chose the two crowd favorite tours and decided to try one tour on private and the other on a group tour to experience the best of both worlds.
We chose Tour A on a private boat for our first day island hopping tour because it is the one that goes to the Big Lagoon. We also had more time flying our drone to capture video footage without worrying about it's time to go for the next stop. Tour A is also the most popular pick by travelers. Our boat captain took us to the Big Lagoon, Secret Lagoon, Shimizu Island, Entalula Island and The Seven Commandos Beach. A perfect balance between adventure and snorkeling opportunities.
The next day, we picked Tour C on a shared boat. Tour C is the second crowd favorite tour. It has several must-see attractions including Hidden Beach, Secret Beach, Talisay Beach, Cadlao Lagoon (a substitute spot for Matincloc Shrine), and Helicopter Island.
Overall, great memories! Island hopping was definitely the best way to explore the scenic islands sprinkled throughout Bacuit Bay in El Nido, Palawan. If you're contemplating of going, go now. Safe travels and happy Island Hopping!
