Harmony Florida school spring break 2022 is presented by Jeanine Corcoran broker for The Corcoran Connection. Jeanine is joined by her co-host Kristin Macari owner of Studio Nine 13. Welcome to the 12th episode of Discover Harmony Florida.
Kristin started off by asking Jeanine when spring break is in Osceola County Florida this year in 2022? Jeanine replied that school spring break is March 11th through the 18th and the students go back to school on Monday, March 24th.
Kristin asked Jeanine if there was anything specific going on in Harmony Florida during spring break? Jeanine said that there is “movie night” which is towards the end of spring break on Saturday, March 19th at 7:30 PM.
They have not announced what the movie will be yet, but it will be held in Harmony Town Square. Bring your chairs, blankets, and bug spray. Jeanine stated that it is such a fun night, the kids run around and parents head over to the restaurant and get a drink. It is a great family experience.
Jeanine said that there will be food trucks on Wednesday, March 23rd which is not a part of spring break. That is held down by Lakeshore Park near Buck Lake. The food trucks will be there from 5 PM – 8 PM. They do an excellent job of having a nice variety of food trucks there for people to enjoy different things. It is a wonderful community event where people drive their golf carts, hang out, talk to neighbors, and enjoy tasty food.
Jeanine was talking about people who don’t leave Harmony for spring break with their kids and stay local, what do you do with your kids? Kristin said that she likes to take her kids to Melbourne. She said people don’t think about going to Melbourne because they think it is too far away. It takes just as much time to get to the loop in Kissimmee as it does to go to Melbourne.
Kristin continued that they like going to Melbourne beaches and go a little south to a place called Billie’s. Parking is free; however, it is a small parking lot so get there early in the morning or later in the afternoon. You can grab lunch, there’s ice cream for the kids and showers as well.
Another wonderful place to take the kids is the Reptile World Serpentarium. It is a reptile zoo in St. Cloud, Osceola County, Florida. It features more than 75 species of snakes, as well as lizards, crocodiles, alligators, and turtles. It is operated by the herpetologist George Van Horn.
They milk the snakes there for their venom. This facility provides anti-venom for snake bites nationally. It is something you must experience if you have not gone. It’s inexpensive and highly educational. They have been around since the 1970s.
Jeanine mentioned Wild Florida Safari Drive-Thru Park in Kenansville, Florida. When you purchase a ticket for the drive-through safari, you also get access to the zoo which you walk around in. She warned that you have to watch out for the Ostriches. Jeanine said that is the only animal you have to watch out for.
Another place to take the kids is Ziplining Florida also in Kenansville, Florida. Kristin says that one is not for her as she doesn’t like heights. However, kids love it, and it would be a great place to go for a day during Harmony Florida School Spring Break 2022. There is also the Marsh Landing Adventures in Orlando. They give airboat tours where you get to go out the see the gators.
Now, if you don’t mind big crowds, head on down to International Drive and visit Wonder Works Orlando. They have laser tag, a ropes course, and a 6D motion ride. Jeanine said that there is so much to do in that facility that you could spend the entire day there.
Then you have swimming with the dolphins at Discovery Cove in Orlando. It is expensive but it is a once in the lifetime type of experience.
