@Iberia was the world's first operator of the XLR. Although the airline is operating the brand new aircraft on the popular Transatlantic East Coast destinations of Washington D.C. and Boston from Madrid, the aircraft has the capabilities to fly much further. But can the new Business Class match the experience on the airline's larger long-haul fleet? Is it the world's best Business Class? Probably not, but could it be one of the smartest to travel on, maybe.
While there were some shortcomings, there were also a lot of benefits from flying such a small aircraft, from quick boarding and deplaning to the intimate cabin and more personalised service.
With prices at approx £1,800 return, flights are now cheap, and often are offered at a lower price to the widebody flights operating the same routes. So there is certainly value for money to be found on these routes.
