Island hopping in Sulu... what a beautiful experience! We left Patikul by boat, and made our way across the sea to the island Municipality of Hadji Panglima Tahil. This Municipality has only five Barangays. The sandy ring like island Barangay of Bangas, was our first stop... and the place I will forever of had my first "Oko' Oko". The Tausugs cook sea urchins with rice in a unique mix that is then put back in the shell. It was delicious!
Seaweed is a big industry in this part of the Philippines, and I saw a lot of it as we walked around. After soaking up island community vibes, learning a bit about boats, and trekking to some amazing views...
It was off to Bubuan Island!
BEAUTIFUL. That is all that needs to be said about this island. Not only does the white sandy coast mesmerize you... but the lush green vegetation and ocean river way left me breathless. One of the most beautiful islands I have been to in the Philippines.
