The Bahamas always seem endless… but are they? 🌴⛵
In this episode, our family of seven living aboard full-time continues island-hopping down the Bahamian chain, making the most of every stop as we work our way toward the Windward Passage and eventually back to Panama. We leave the crystal-clear anchorage of Rudder Cay, point the bows south, and make a festive holiday stop in Georgetown, Elizabeth Harbor — a familiar place filled with good memories, friendly faces, and that unmistakable cruising community vibe.
But this season is different. The weather windows are calling, the calendar is moving, and before we know it, we’re raising anchor once again. As quickly as we arrived, we’re gone — chasing the next island, the next anchorage, and the next adventure.
That leaves us wondering:
How many islands are left in the Bahamas? How many more can we explore before it’s time to cross the Windward Passage? Which ones will we actually get to see, and which will have to wait for another season?
This is the reality of life aboard — balancing curiosity with timing, savoring each stop while knowing you can’t see it all. Along the way, we’re continuing to learn our new catamaran, dial in passages, and keep things fun, safe, and memorable for our kids as we sail farther south.
If you love family sailing, real cruising life, island hopping, and big-picture adventure, come along as we chase horizons and make the most of every mile.
