We booked a half-day private boat from Ao Nang so we could explore the islands at our own pace with our toddler. Starting early meant quiet beaches, calm water, and even having one island completely to ourselves.
In this video we visit Koh Poda, stop for snorkelling straight off the boat, and visit the famous sandbank between Chicken Island and Koh Tup where you can walk between the islands when the tide is low.
Hiring a private longtail boat was easily one of our favourite experiences in Thailand. It gave us the flexibility to move slowly, take breaks when we needed, and enjoy the islands without the rush of a group tour.
